Just reading this game's entry over at sarna.net:

Some versions of the game (namely the C64 version) are said to include Javelin and Spider 'Mechs as well, which would (very rarely) be encountered among the Kurita patrols, and could be salvaged if defeated in combat and kept by the player.

I wonder what they look like? In the DOS version, I would sometimes be able to get an Urbanmech and a Jenner. However, to keep the same "Locust" image, I would have to hex edit the mech titles to say LRBANMECH AND LENNER.

It's a bit silly at times with the battle animations even being repurposed for the movie theater, but this was my gateway drug into the wonderful world of Battletech and Mechwarrior.
