How do I play Super Nintendo games on my PC?
You need an 'emulator'. These programs make SNES game files run on PC. Recommendable emulators are
ZSNES and
Snes9x.
What is a 7z file?
The everlasting question. 7z files are compressed files similar to zip files. To extract them, you need the suitable program available
here.
After extracting I get an smc file. What is this?
These files are the SNES games. You do
not need to extract or change them somehow!
How do I run these files/How do I run the game?
Using the emulator ZSNES
1. Run the emulator
2. In the menu
Game, click on
Load
3. Choose the directory containing the SNES game files
4. Click twice on the desired game
Using the emulator SNES9x
1. Run the emulator
2. In the menu
File, click on
Open ROM
3. Choose the directory containing the SNES game files
4. Click twice on the desired game
My emulator is displayed on a small part of the screen. How can I change this?
ZSNES: In the menu
Config/Video, the desired resolution can be chosen. Possibly select
Full Screen to make it fit.
SNES9x: First choose
Options/Display Configuration. There, select
Full Screen and
Stretch Image. Choose your desired resolution there, too.
