Still wonder how he got caught though, what he did seems pretty easy to get away with... Probably was dumb enough to leave evidence all over his garage; that's the one thing that's even more stupid than his fantastic plan.

Thank God the laundry wasn't hurt!
I can't see Fretz' underpants there anymore though - maybe those were blown off... ;)

Nope, that was the Vindaloo that blew them off :). Just joking, my house is directly behind where i took the photo from. The laundry belongs to an old couple.

Since I started this thread more information has come to light. In the local paper it said that there was two explosions, this one and then another 10 minutes later about 2 miles away.

Apparantly, the guy who did it wanted revenge on somebody for something (probably drug related). He built 2 bombs. The first one he used to blow up the phone box to test his pyro skills and make sure it worked. The second bomb was attatched to the front door of somebodys house and then exploded, blew the door clean off and shattered a few windows. No-one got injured in either explosion.

Tomfoolery like that will get him banged up for a couple of years.

He's in court on Thursday so I'll let you know what he gets.

Hehehe, I can see the funny side in that, as all the phone boxes here have their head piece ripped off by the occasional drunkard, I guess this is just the next step in evolution.

Yes, although I don't get exactly what happened, from what I can tell this act showcases an extreme amount of stupidity...

See attatchment.

The Date - 1st Jan 2003
The Time - 4:00AM
The Place - the phonebox outside my house

The Event - some idiot got a bit over-zealous and turned his garage into a dismantled-firework bomb factory.

The Result - phonebox door blown off completely and found 20 yards away in someones back garden. Twisted metal frame remains. Money scattered over 1/4 mile radius.

Not yer average firework bomb. The person responsible has been arrested and is now facing charges of Endangering Human Life through Explosives, or to put it another way, terrorism.

NOTICE TO ADVERTISERS - company's who advertise in Phonebox's should note that the casing which contains your advert is the strongest part of the phonebox and when the phonebox is blown up by a bomb, your advert will remain in-tact, so dont ask for a credit note.
