Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | Looks like a display error... You could try the following: Right click on the file --> properties --> screen/display --> check "full screen". Then run the file again. If that doesn't help, I'd recommend trying it in "DOS-Mode" or look for another Pong version... |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | Yes, it's a DOS program, but you can directly run it from the Windows Interface, too. Just double click the pong21.com file, and it should start in DOS mode automatically. Edit: Quote: what browser are you using? Mozilla Firebird. Select "Save link as" (or similar), whereupon it will attempt to save it as a html file. Remove the wrong file extention, and it will work. Edited by Tapuak at 01:06 on August, 16th 2003 |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | I've located the source of the problem. The server sends "iso8859-1" as MIME type of the html file. As we all know, that isn't a valid MIME type at all! So the browser asks what to do with it. When I choose to open it with the browser, it acts exactly as it would with a zip file when you choose to 'open' it instead of 'saving' it: it saves the file in some temporary place on the hd and then opens it. I wonder how it can work for you... what browser are you using? Edit: And the file http://members.aol.com/jmnsam/Files/pong21.com sends "text/html" as MIME type. That is one messy server! Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | Quote: The link actually doesn't work for me at all now that I tried it. The page which opens only opens another page which for some reason is located on my hard drive (temporary files). The download link then points to my hard drive, too, with the file not being there of course. |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 964 | No, you don't need an emulator. What's you problem? Does it run or not? |

Member Baby Gumby Posts: 8 | Is there some kind of emulator I can get, because I followed the guys link, and the file I donwloaded worked, but nothing looked like normal. And I am not dumb, I know you can't download hardware. ----- Buliding Websites and making Flash |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | If that is the case, I unfortunately have to point you we know absolutely nothing about Tiny's computer, so it's pretty hard to point him to a fitting version. Through the power of assumption, I'd still suggest Tapuak's link, though... ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |
