CT and AT could be legit, 5.51 is a later 98 version and it's only February there. Doesn't mean a lot, really.

You're probably right. And the files date is super suspicious, 1999 can't really be correct at all. Sounds to me that someone just copied the files over and not the actual disks.

I have uploaded another copy of Norton Commander 5.51
Looking at the file dates, looks like it's a copied version, or hand-made images. But still, it might be useful to verify or repair some other set.

@AliensOfGold,

Added:

Sword of the Samurai (3465): v445.03

Note: Ok, apparently this version is not physically protected as it runs successfully as raw IMG. I also haven't found any CP trace in hex editor. However, I will keep TD0 dump just in case.

Quote:
For the other games, is there a best or commonly used program for DOS that can create IMG files?

Yes, but the good ones are all console-based. Don't trust anything with a GUI, that doesn't do the job very well. The most popular options are DCOPY or DISKCOPY. You can also keep using Teledisk or ImageDisk if you like, both are easily convertible.

Maybe releases for different markets and a typo on the QAFILE. I notice that mine has the date with dashes -, while yours has the date separated with bars /

Still, the correct letter is U, as seen in-game.

Added:

Space Quest 3: The Pirates of Pestulon (3460): v1.0V / SCI 0.000.453. Disk 1 is modified (updated RESOURCE.CFG).

That would be v1.0U (instead of V). Just a detail I know :D

That's not what the QAFILE says, but I suppose wiki wouldn't lie ;) Notes added, thanks.

That's weird, my QAFILE from the same version says the following:

Space Quest ]I[
Date: 4-13-89
Version: 1.0 U
Inter.: 0.000.453

And it matches the in-game version number in the About menu item.

I also have the 5.25" floppy version of Space Quest 3 (same version), Rise of The Dragon, Heart of China and Sword of The Samurai (brand new). Should I use Teledisk to make images of these versions also?

Great! Teledisk only for Sword of the Samurai, please. That one should have MPS-2 protection. Others can be dumped as raw IMGs.

The game cannot be played from disk, but runs perfectly once installed to hard drive. It has doc-check copy-protection, by the way.

Thank you, notes corrected.
