Member Zombie Gumby Posts: 3881 | Ok, someone downloaded The Dark Heart of Uukrul (875) and (876) and discovered that in-game copy protection is not working as intended. Quote: To check it yourself, fire up Uukrul with DosBox, and enter the first sanctuary. Follow straight until you reach a magic door, trace the groove with the staff (3), then continue ahead until the rune panel, turn right and continue straight until the door. When entering the sanctuary, the game asks for the translation of five runes, found in the soul amulets accompanying the game. The runes are always the same, and the correct answer is "shohi". You can keep going to the 2nd and 3rd sanctuary if you know how (leave sanctuaries always to the east, go to the southeast door heading to the east, go past the wolf and mara, 2nd sanctuary, then pay the robbed figure, turn left on the crossroad with the map, pass the market place (straight on the aisle!) and go left+upstairs at the next crossroad). Every reached sanctuary asks for the rune translation the first time you enter it, and all ask for the same runes, and the answer is of course always shohi. Question: is this a DOSBox glitch (hardly), special unprotected release or simply a manually cracked version? If the latter, then how come it's set to "Verified"? ----- Cheer up!
