First of all, I'm new to the board .. so a big Hello to everyone.

Everyonce in awhile I see game CDs in stores with tons of different games for $5.00 to $10.00. Of course they always seem to be for Windows. (3.1 to WinME,) you never see any Roms loaded with DOS games and stuff. Yes I know .. Who uses dos anymore - right? Well anyway, just wondering if anyone has seen any for sale nowadays and what they put on them?

I have a bunch of DOS stuff I've collected over the years. Think I got somewhere around 700 or so floppy disks. Contents of 480 of them are listed in a disk cataloger program called Catdisk. I can't believe I done that now .. lol.

I play my old DOS games on my 486-DX4-100. Menu program is Easy Menu, Filemanagers are Xtree-Gold and Zip-Master. I use ListPlus and call NE (Call Norton Editor from within list) to edit text files. Well enough about that.

My most favorite DOS games are Microprose games.

Ooops this is getting to long .. all the best!

Don't know... I see a lot of DOS games being sold on CD-ROM in the stores. These are, however, not of collection-type as you seem to be referring to. If you mean CD-ROMs with really many different games, you're certainly talking about freeware or shareware. I can tell you why you can't find these for DOS: there is hardly any software still being made for this! Programmers work with Windows mainly. On the user side, there is the compatibility problem: with Windows ME, 2000 and XP, they can't run those programs, so why bother buying them?
Now you see the violence inherent in the system!

Was just pretty much wondering if there was such a thing as old dos collections being sold on CD nowadays. (Not shareware.)I didn't really think there would be, but just thought I would ask. Just incase I had over looked them. Thanks!

I realize there isn't to many people out there
who care to run DOS and DOS software on older machines. (No demand for DOS stuff these days.)

The CMOS battery died in my old Tandy 286 1000 TX, so I've been looking around the net for info on the Battery voltage for the above mentioned computer. I like to keep those old DOS machines up and running.

I have a few old games if interested?
I can list them if need be?

Guess that is about it for now ..
