Member Retired Gumby Posts: 740 | I've come acros a surprising number of online emulators for old computers & gaming systems. The fact that they use java sucks & the fact that they don't have joystick support is a pain, but it's nice being able to play them anywhere & not having to download anything first. Here are the ones I've found: http://www.virtualapple.org/ http://dosdose.com/ http://www.zxspectrum.net/ http://www.c64s.com http://gbemul.com/ http://www.home.lv/pokemon/gameboy-emulator.html http://www.mastersystem8.com http://www.nintendo8.com/ http://www.virtualnes.com/ http://www.nescafeweb.com/ http://www.1980-games.com/us/ ----- At the end of the day, you're left with a bent fork & a pissed off rhino. |

I saw years ago a Megadrive emulation CD that didn't require any install, just choosing a game and then playing (using a hard-drive folder to store saves). Something like that with graphic adventures and similar would get quite popular, people loves plug & play. And I think this would work great for that. |

(Even without such a folder, most emus will still work, you just won't be able to save anything or change any options.) It certainly wouldn't be difficult to put an emulator & some roms onto a cd, and pre-set it to save games & settings in "c:\{emulator}". It'd also be very easy to put the emu & roms on a flash drive. ----- At the end of the day, you're left with a bent fork & a pissed off rhino. |
