I know this will sound negative, but out of curiosity: What's the advantage over simply using WHDLoad/Workbench?

Hello Mr Creosote,

AmiGame does not need workbench to launch game.
Launch Amigame, choose your game, click and play! That's all!

With AmiGame you have access to a full database, pictures, boxscans, screenshots, musics, reviews, etc...
AmiGamr scans ADF and WHDload games, if they're recognized, they'll be soon set as playable. You do not need to configure something.
You can play with your games and never see WinUAE!

Some people preffer that. I've tried frontends for DosBox and in the end I think they are too much work. But many people get scared of writing commands and in general doing computer related things, so feeling all is going on auto helps them.

But also makes people think all is like console emulation, that you have an emulator, a rom and all is just pressing a button.

I understand how it works, but I've got the same comfort level just by launching UAE, letting it boot into Workbench and clicking on the game drawers there. In your words:

- Launch UAE
- Choose your game
- Click
- Play!

All with native Amiga methods, without the need of any configuration and without the need for any additional layer.

I really wish you all the best for the project. Like Wandrell, I see that many people love this sort of thing. I just have a hard time understanding it.

Yes, it's true but you still have to boot workbench with E-UAE/WinUAE.(so you have to bought a Workbench)
With AmiGame, you do not need to boot Workbench and just need your roms (whiche you have extracted from your orignal Amiga ou bought via Amiga forever by example)

Ok... but both an original Amiga and Amiga Forever come with Workbench disks, too - so no matter which way you've gotten your Kickstart images, you will also have Workbench disks ;)
