Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | Hi. I begin to dump many of copy protected games for IBM PC. That means, you don't have to crack disk images to run emulator. To dump copy protected games as special disk image, I recommend the following tools on real MS-DOS or PC-DOS. Teledisk 2.1x (*.TD0) -- best solution ImageDisk 1.17 (*.IMD) FDA 6.1 (BIOS needs to support 2 floppy drives) (*.BIN) These tools can dump non standard sector with Bad CRC. Of course a few of games dumped by these can't be restore to disks. Because FDC for PC doesn't allow to make (write) Bad CRC to diskette. (In this case, Trans Copy Option Board needs.) Many of copy protected software checks any value in sector with logical Bad CRC via INT-13 function. In 2010, only PCE (IBM PC 5150) emulator supports copy protected trac/sector. (Image format : Standard .ima, Teledisk .td0, Anadisk .ana, Protected FDC, .pfdc) No other PC emulator or DOSBOX support this function. I'm dumping nearly 100 kinds of copy protected games. Most of games runs well on PCE emulator with copy protected status. If anyone have copy protected games, I can help to you. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | This is definitely interesting! Lemmings 2 is one of the examples which simply can't be dumped with the regular tools, I believe. Would you consider donating your dumps to our collection? I see you uploaded two games, but since your list is quite extensive, we could also arrange direct FTP access to avoid the overhead of manual browser-based uploading. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! ----- Edited by Mr Creosote at 17:42 on March 22nd, 2011 |

More Lemmings, Data Disk Version"? If not, original Lemmings have copy protection on Track 0 - 4 / Sector 10-12 with weak bit method. >Would you consider donating your dumps to our collection? Yes, I can upload a few of games. If you show me FTP account, thanks. P.S. I've checked sha1 for Gunship 2000 (Scenario disk) It seems to be not dumped correctly. |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | Well, I have this game, too. This game seems not to have copy protection. I've dumped this by Winimage or dcopy (for DOS/Windows) I've uploaded it there. ----- Edited by ibmpc5150 at 22:12 on March 22nd, 2011 |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | I've uploaded Gunship 2000: Islands & Ice from my retail. This is good dumped. Your disk image is dumped strangely. (WINIMAGE is included on Boot Sector <-- This is not original) |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1092 | Thanks, we have some images made with winimage that include that. I'm told that with the correct options that doesn't happen, but the people who make that mistake usually don't know (or don't want to know) how to use other programs. I'll try to take a look as soon as I can, but it may take some time right now I fear. |

That tool is useless, there is no way to put it differently. Wandrell: I put the uploaded files in the todo queue to be processed. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 486 | I'll try to put a few of Copy protected image as *.td0 (Teledisk Format) To run copy protected image on emulator, only PCE (IBM PC 5150) supports this. |
