Member Bachelor Gumby Posts: 43 | Hi ppl, I'm new here, registered a couple of days ago but it wasn't until now that I could login after trying several things. The issue is that (at least in my case) if you register using the English version of the forum, you won't receive the mail with the password even though the registration process works ok, the user is generated. I then went to the "Forgot password" option, wrote my mail, clicked submit and waited forever. Never got it. After a couple of days, I just out of curiosity tried doing the same but in German, and I got the mail in less that 1 second. I thought that the problem had been temporary, so I tried with English again, but it still failed. What I discovered is that the English version does indeed reset your password (because if you use that option, you can no longer login with your old password) but you never get the mail, so the problem may be lying somewhere in the English mail system. Regards!! |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | I just registered a new account using the English interface and the mail was promptly delivered. Same with the lost password function which worked perfectly for me as well. Careful inspection of the respective parts of the code does not reveal anything problematic, either. So I'm afraid I cannot reproduce this issue. Although I wouldn't know where the difference would be, could it be an issue with your spam filter? If anyone else experienced similar issues, please speak up as well! ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Bachelor Gumby Posts: 43 | Well, I just tried again and it worked fine this time. Maybe it was a temporary issue? Who knows... I don't use any spam filter so that was not it, clearly. Besides, if it was some kind of spam filter, it would have been the same for both, havent it? Weird thing . |
