That's plainly stupid and absolything anything.

Holodeck point? Did you ever watched DS9? They DO use it for that. But that's a damned TV show! Do you seriously think they will air something like that? (even tough they did it once or twice. Remember when mister I'm too shy to talk to Troy used the holodeck to... Well... Do "stuff" with her? :D)

DS9? You mean the show that pretended to be Babylon 5, but that name was already taken? ;)

And what's wrong with showing a little flesh on TV?

That should be up to the only American in this thread to answer, shouldn't it?

Anyway, they forgot the most important point in this listing: Star Trek sucks! :P

Agreed, except for the original series with polystyrene rocks and sawdust planet surfaces. Jim Kirk was cool, all the modern shit and spin offs are crap!

What is the prime directive?

*Puts on his Trekkie Hat*

The prime directive is mainly to prevent Starfleet from contacting Level 0 civilizations (i.e. Earth right now) to make sure they don't interfere with their evolution or to allow a civilization which is not ready to get to Level 1 yet (Level 1 refer to a civilization which developped star travel) to evolve too fast. Past experiences of Starfleet Command (long, long ago in Star Trek history) reveled that when a civilization which is not ready to discover that they are not alone in the universe get the hand on goody tech of level 1 or 2, they usually blow themselves up in useless wars(and the Federation with it).

Mr Creosote: Despite me living here, I much prefer the German midnight TV over the US afternoon TV ;)

Those classics died when RTL and SAT1 stopped boradcasting this kind of programs (remember Tutti Frutti?). As far as I remember, VOX is a little more artsy, and PRO7 usually has some US softporn. :P

Um..... they are usually showing US softporn from the 70s and 80s as well as Japanese (Hentai) porn, Kabel 1 shows the same as Pro 7. I wouldn't call any of this 'artsy' :P

Dunno... Whenever I'm home (always around Christmas), all I get on Vox is something that looks too fake to be actually arrousing. The picture during the act is usually out of focus, people are moving slowly, and are always covered just enough. Too bad I don't get Kabel 1, though ;)
