What the fuck is "Platunum"?

I suppose he's referring to the "platinum" you placed after the spam club's version at the bottom of the forum...

Hey, that actually sounds like a believable theory! So, assuming this is correct: you're all invited to my place - I'm throwing a party

It's so easy to invite people to a party while knowing that (almost) no one of the people invited will be able to come.

How did I manage to spell that one wrong when I was looking right at the version history? I guess my typing needs some work, then...

I work at a bulk food supplier, so I suppose I could supply the, eh, bulk food.

So........what's new? Why's it called "Platinum"?

New? It's been that way for quite a while I think...

Actually, The Mole is right - this version has been active for several weeks already. And he's also right about the name: major updates to versions which can be considered bug-free always get some silly name after the version number

Cant you just say "X.xx major version and bug-free"? Or why couldn't you just go from, (eg), 1.5 to 2.0? And why platinum? Shouldn't you start small with, say, Bronze so that you'll have something available for the future?

Imagine the bottom row saying "X.xx major version and bug-free" instead of "X.xx Silver/Gold/Platinum". Would look a bit silly, wouldn't it? As for the pure number, that did increase from 1.5 to 2.0.... it also increased from 0.1 to 0.3 - but all that happened way earlier. Platinum, because we already had 'Gold' (version 1.6 Gold), and it would be a bit silly to 'step down' with version 2.0 again.

Since it doesn't sound as if you have found it already, you can all look it up here.

It would also be too long to fit the row in smaller resolutions. Another argument against it

Games have been going "Gold" for a long time now, but why people get so excited when a game gets a "Gold" label is beyond me.

You could fit it within the width of the main board, couldn't you?

As you might have noticed, the board changes its width according to the screen resolution. Anyway, it was just a joke - such a 'slogan' is simply silly!
