Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | The only possible way I can imagine that happens would be if you go offline, close your browser, immediately go online again, open a new browser and come back to the forum with this new browser. Then, and only then, you get a new session id. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 740 | Definite no on the opening/closing browser, probable no on the disconnect/reconnect. When it happened to me, I had gone from the board to another site, then back again, and my name was on the list twice. I'm pretty sure that I stayed connected the whole time, but my connection's been very unreliable lately and it's hard to keep track of when I get disconnected. Perhaps it'd be better to go with cookies instead of sesion ids? ----- At the end of the day, you're left with a bent fork & a pissed off rhino. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | As for your question: No. Session ids are safer (impossible to 'hack' ) and work for everyone (unlike cookies which can easily be turned off). ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | So my f*cking with your script motivated you into doing something semi-usefull?
