I have one more thing! Just uploaded the images dumped from my copy of The Legend of Kyrandia: Book One.

I think it's the v1.0 in 4 x 3.5'' HD disks requested by user SB1988 on this thread.

First Samurai (3280): Won't run in any emulator. Copy protection?

The game cannot be played from disk, but runs perfectly once installed to hard drive. It has doc-check copy-protection, by the way.

Space Quest III v1.0 int. #0.000.453 on 3 x 720K disks. Not sure on their usage history, but they arrived write protected.

I also have the 5.25" floppy version of Space Quest 3 (same version), Rise of The Dragon, Heart of China and Sword of The Samurai (brand new). Should I use Teledisk to make images of these versions also?

Great! Teledisk only for Sword of the Samurai, please. That one should have MPS-2 protection. Others can be dumped as raw IMGs.

That would be v1.0U (instead of V). Just a detail I know :D

That's not what the QAFILE says, but I suppose wiki wouldn't lie ;) Notes added, thanks.

That's weird, my QAFILE from the same version says the following:

Space Quest ]I[
Date: 4-13-89
Version: 1.0 U
Inter.: 0.000.453

And it matches the in-game version number in the About menu item.

I really have no idea why, your version must be revised or something. Also, disk 2 of this particular release has QAFILE.BAK on it which reads 1.0U. The other one is 1.0V still.

Maybe releases for different markets and a typo on the QAFILE. I notice that mine has the date with dashes -, while yours has the date separated with bars /

Still, the correct letter is U, as seen in-game.

Sword Of The Samurai on 5.25" imaged using Teledisk (hopefully correctly).

For the other games, is there a best or commonly used program for DOS that can create IMG files?

@AliensOfGold,

Added:

Sword of the Samurai (3465): v445.03

Note: Ok, apparently this version is not physically protected as it runs successfully as raw IMG. I also haven't found any CP trace in hex editor. However, I will keep TD0 dump just in case.

Yes, but the good ones are all console-based. Don't trust anything with a GUI, that doesn't do the job very well. The most popular options are DCOPY or DISKCOPY. You can also keep using Teledisk or ImageDisk if you like, both are easily convertible.
