Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | I own 'only' two domain names, but I've always been satisfied with Joker.com. The prices are very reasonable (way lower than what you'll mostly get), their control panel is easy to work with and support is good (ok, it was only one simple case when I ever needed any, so that's not a statistically proven statement). They're only offering common international TLDs, though. Since you're running an English site (that is for the ED site?), that'd be the best choice anyway What you should check first is whether you have to get additional nameservers. If you're running your own DNS, that is no issue, of course. With regular 'shared hosting', you normally should be able to use the ones of your host. But better check back with them, because if they don't offer that, you'll have to get that additional service from somewhere else. Best choice then: get nameservers directly from the domain registrar (most will offer that). That's basically it. Just stay away from registrars which will only give you pseudo-control of 'your' domain, but which will put in themselves as owners instead. Serious registrars will never do that. That will become important in case you ever want to switch over to another registrar and take the domain name with you. Not that I hope that'll become a necessity, but you can never know ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Master Gumby Posts: 111 | Don't work with easyspace.com They'll trick you into buying a cheap domain... without cloaked redirection that you'll discover later on and will have to buy seperately. If you rent space from them, you'll have to bear with their banners on every html page, in every frame! They demand additional payment to remove the banners which alone is expensive than the domain and the space combined! |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Wow, that sounds really bad! In general, I'd always avoid getting both hosting and domain registration from the same provider. It always causes trouble. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Retired Gumby Posts: 1007 | Speaking of domain registration, who would you recommend if I wanted only to buy a domain, while having my own space? ----- NetDanzr<br /> -The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog- |

Member Master Gumby Posts: 111 | OK, old thread but doesn't hurt to say that I tried www.godaddy.com for a single domain reg and a cloaking for whois information. No problems so far and dirt cheap too. |
