Member Dr Gumby Posts: 202 | 19. Yep, orichalcum 20. An alloy of copper and zinc called orichalcum was used a great deal by the Romans. This consisted of eighty percent copper and twenty percent zinc, with small amounts of lead, tin, and other metals and is known as Yellow Brass today. 21. Yes, coins! 22. Stopped people cheating the government in Ancient Rome, the weight of the coins using orichalcum could be made to be exactly the same (plus or minus 1%!) ----- Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 607 | Little question about the Fate of Atlantis (not a quiz though ): How do you manoeuver the sub to get into the airlock? I remember getting past this part of the game some years ago, but now I'm stuck... I don't think I've missed anything, I just can't get it in the exact correct position... ----- "One Very Important Thought" |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | I was just stating that it is a good reason for a deal not to go through if one of the two involved parties goes bankrupt before the deal is finalised... I found it rather humurous... ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century. Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11097 | Ok, just wasn't sure which way you meant it Actually, there is a lot of speculation from my side in that statement. As sources, I just have an old Amiga magazine which states in two different issues Commodore is trying to buy the rights to the games, but never picked the topic back up (and apparantely, the game were never released officially for Amiga (although there are unofficial versions by now)) when Commodore got into financial trouble. It might be related (i.e. Commodore not having enough money), it might not (e.g. Lucas Arts refusing altogether). I just added this speculation because I think it's the version which is most likely and of course for the effect - which seems to have worked ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 560 | Then you might want to add to your review that this is merely a theory by you based on certain facts... It might stimulate someone to do some research into the matter... Although, if my view of the current net-user is accurate, the chances on this happening are rather slim... ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century. Absolutely Actually, what other theory would be possible? All I can think of otherwise is the one I mentioned before and that is very unlikely - why would Lucas Arts reject money for nothing?----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 607 | Hmmm... I only remember a troll on a bridge who'd let you pass in exchange for a red herring, so I'm guessing this question is either about something entirely different or a trick question?
