Member Prof Gumby Posts: 488 | As far as I am concerned, I still don't see the new posts after visiting another forum. Might be because I'm still on my "old" ID; I'll try loging out and loging back on my next visit. I'm pretty busy today tough, and it will probably be tonight at best. Member Prof Gumby Posts: 488 | The new message bug seems to be back again, even tough it is not constant and very rare. Sometimes when I open a forum with >>>'s knowing there is unread posts, I don't get the >>>'s in front of the thread. It happens most often when there is only one new thread in the forum. Do you think that the fact that I never logoff could be the reason? Last time it occured (right now), I looked up at Fretz attachment in Software Galore before returning back to the main menu with the "back" button, then clicking on Vox Pop. ----- I am on a hot streak... Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11126 | The only reason which could cause this is if you wait several minutes (15 I think) between looking at two pages. Then, your session expires and all 'old' posts are marked as read. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 488 | It happened again and it took about 2 mins before I came back to the first window, so thrash out that time delay theory. I did open a new window in the process via MSN Messenger tough. Man, that program really does get worse with every new versions. I'm very sad I had to switch to a newer version after installing my new 42 gigs HD... I think I'm gonna start using ICQ again... ----- I am on a hot streak... Litterally. |

Trillian or Gaim? that way you can still use your msn-account (and connect your ICQ-account to it to... And AIM, IRC and Yahoo-messenger should you use any of these...) And the brilliant part is: these are free (or have a free and a commercial version in trillians case) and more secure/functional then MSN... And my main motivation: It ain't Microsoft Quote: Of course, but it sounds as if you had several windows all with the Spam Club open. What's so odd about that? I constantly have several tabs open all showing different threads/pages of the spam club... ----- "In theory, if people bred as fast as ants, and with an equal indifference for it's surrounding species, earth would have 5 million human inhabitants at the turn of the century.
