Yes, by pressing some F-key (F8 or F9). Then you can choose to be asked about every single line from the config.sys - whether it should be loaded or not.

Thanks for the prompt answer! I do know about the F8... But I cant use it, becaus the rest of the config is extreme long, and I cant press J or No all the time... Is there an other option? like if... then goto... ??? I need the [common] for around 20 options in menu... And just for 1 not....

No, there is no other way. You will have to copy and paste the common part into the 20 options you use it for and leave the actual common part empty.

Its a Tool-CD to check Laptops. Every Laptop has its own Test-Program. Therefor I have about 20 times the [common] in use ( for CD-Driver etc).

But there are some tools ( Like Memory Tests) witch do have some problems with the himem.sys I have to load also in [common].

I did copy/paste all the [common] part to every "startup" line, exept by the Memory Test startup. I have to try it out tomorrow, but I think it will work now....

The best way I know to "overrun" a line in config.sys or autoexec.bat is to place a rem in front of the line. The line will then not be executed, if I'm correct it won't even be read at all.

Of course, you need to edit the file everytime before you reboot...

I am on a hot streak... Litterally.
