Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Ignoring all the other silly stuff, it already loses its credibility by saying it has 1TB RAM. Everybody with at least some basic knowledge of computers knows that 32 Bit systems can't address more than 4GB. And although they don't say anything about the CPU architecture, Windows XP is most certainly a 32 Bit OS. ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Member Prof Gumby Posts: 432 | Win XP also has a 64-bit variant, not widely publically available yet, but I've seen it in presentations a few times. Several hardware developers have access to it. Plus, the text mentions 64 bit somewhere... Edited by Johann67 at 20:35 on September, 10th 2005 ----- If it ain't broken, you're not trying hard enough. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Even that version of Windows XP only uses 36bit for memory access, resulting in 128GB of addressable memory. Edit: If that doesn't convince you, check out the image of an "NvIOpRAM 24GB [3-pin]" on http://atomchip.com/_wsn/page3.html. I can pick such a headphone adapter up at any store around the corner for a few cents. Edited by Mr Creosote at 20:41 on September, 10th 2005 ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |

Guest | I find solid state storage more interesting than another processor, which for all of it's benefit is not usually the source of delays except in newer games which can use it. One day, we will have it. |

Admin Reborn Gumby Posts: 11098 | Clock speed certainly is overrated these days. They should rather eliminate the PCI bottleneck. However, that's not nearly as suited for catchy advertisement as 'xx GHz'... ----- Now you see the violence inherent in the system! |
