Avatar For a game thats sole purpose is to advertise a pizza company, it is surprisingly full featured. Avoid the Noid features 10 different levels with 3 floors each and an extra level that includes a rooftop. The goal of the game is to reach the top floor and deliver the pizza to Doom Industries without running into a noid. A noid is an advertising character featured in Domino's commercials back in the 80s who appears as a small man wearing a red skin-tight suit with bunny ears. His sole purpose is to annoy you and prevent you from delivering your pizza in time.

There are three modes of speed; walking, running and standing. As a pizza delivery man, you are surprisingly athletic with the ability to jump long distances and roll out of danger. These are incredibly useful skills to have when you have to dodge a noid or leap over a trapdoor or even duck a pizza-seeking rocket. And when things get too tough, you also have a limited amount of noid avoiders that you can use to clear the screen of any immediate danger.

Your primary goal might be simply to deliver the pizza, but the noids definitely make sure it’s not quite so simple. Every floor is separated by an elevator and many of these elevators are locked and you need to find their keys which might involve a little backtracking. Not only that, but you find that the final door is locked by a keycode and that it has been scattered all over the building. For such a simple idea, especially a game designed just as a promotion, Avoid the Noid is a very good example of early 90s video games. If you’re looking for a game to try then I definitely recommend you at least give this one a look.
