Avoid the Noid

noid01.png
California Merchandising Concepts, Inc. 1989
Genre: Action
Rating: 4/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

For a game thats sole purpose is to advertise a pizza company, it is surprisingly full featured. Avoid the Noid features 10 different levels with 3 floors each and an extra level that includes a rooftop. The goal of the game is to reach the top floor and deliver the pizza to Doom Industries without running into a noid. A noid is an advertising character featured in Domino's commercials back in the 80s who appears as a small man wearing a red skin-tight suit with bunny ears. His sole purpose is to annoy you and prevent you from delivering your pizza in time.

Gray Design Associates 1990
Genre: Adventure, Action
Rating: 4/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

Hugo's House of Horrors is the first of three text-controlled adventure game created by Gray Design Associates. The controls are similar to the Sierra titles of the same style. You use arrow keys for character movement and you type in commands to complete tasks. The parser used for input is very limited, but this isn’t a problem since most parsers of the time suffered this same problem.

Titus Interactive 1991
Genre: Action
Rating: 5/6
Licence: Commercial
System: PC

Titus Interactive’s Titus the Fox: To Marrakech and Back is an amazingly smooth and well drawn side-scroller for it’s time. The game, originally released under the name Lagaf': Les Aventures de Moktar — Vol 1: La Zoubid, followed the heroic adventure of a French Comedian named Lagaf, but due to different audiences, Lagaf being completely unknown outside of France, his character was switched to the company's mascot for it's international release.
