Review by Underdogs:
Arguably Simulations Canada's ("SimCan") best game, Northern Fleet is a detailed naval simulation of US-Soviet fleet confrontations in the "bad old days" of Cold War. Due to the absence of any graphics, the game will definitely appeal only to hard-core gamers who crave realism and accuracy over aesthetics value. That said, Northern Fleet is definitely one of the most realistic, thought-provoking simulations ever made, although user friendliness isn't one of its strong points. The AI is superb, and the scenarios intriguing (although many of them are hypothetical). Definitely worth a look for all armchair navy commanders, and especially fans of Harpoon and Action Stations! Highly recommended.

Note: Although the game is no longer in wide distribution, publisher SimCan still exists and is selling the game to anyone who contacts them directly. Register for ConSimWorld below and contact SimCan via "Community Support" folder.
