Review by Underdogs:
Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future is yet another awful action game from Box Office, this time based on a 1987 TV series of the same name. The plot of the TV series goes as follows: in the year 2147, the evil Lord Dread rules Earth with an iron hand. Only a small group of high-tech soldiers under the command of the charismatic Captain Power battles the nemesis and his band of Bio Dread henchmen.

Fans of the original ? and any gamer for that matter ? will be disappointed with this Real Dog. The game is just a lackluster shooter slapped on with the Captain Power name, without bothering to make use of the series? main characters or anything else. You play the game from 3 perspectives: first-person space shootout in the first scenario, 2D side-scrolling shooter in the second, and finally a bombing sequence in the third and final part. The 2D sequence is the only that?s marginally interesting, but even that is very repetitive and tedious. If I didn?t know any better, I could have sworn Box Office and Capstone were run by the same people who specialized in wasting precious TV/movie licenses. This is one to avoid, unless playing a boring shooter if something you?re looking for.
