As it's not the rush hour, there aren't any carts trundling past, which is good news unless you're a cartographer.

Hi jamielay! Personally, I prefer something a bit more substantial these days. Such as a wafer thin mint :P

Hello.

I had my first computer experience at a young age with a computer that was running Windows 3.1. We had a single computer in every classroom and a computer lab that kids got to play in once a week. Even back then, we were required to understand the bare minimum of using a computer before we could pass 1st Grade.

Sadly, I don't remember much about the computers at the school, but some of the games stuck with me. I'll never know why they allowed Doom to be installed on computers for 7 year olds.

I get very excited whenever I'm browsing through archives of Floppy images and I see something that triggers a memory of something I feel was long and forgotten in my childhood that I used to spend countless hours on. It's been a very long time and I don't have the best of memory.

Hello,

my first computer experience was a C64 in the early 90's. And even today I'm interested in the 'old' computer hardware and philosophy.

Hi, newbie here.

You are a reference in floppy images from the DOS era.

Glad to be here.

Hi!

I'm really glad I found your website indirectly through www.archive.org. I may be born around the same time as the PlayStation 2, but I have a passion for technology, repairs and archiving.
I'm archiving my entire media library and struggled to find a proper procedure for floppy disks. Your guide on archiving them confirms that my own method is good. This was also useful: https://tinyurl.com/ycx8wt9m

I live in Québec where we speak French, which means that pre-internet games and software came from France or were even locally translated. These games are obviously more rare than English versions, especially those localized for our province.

I plan on submitting all the French versions of games I have that are not found here or elsewhere on the Internet. I will submit my software if you accept them, else I'll learn to upload on archive.org. I also have a small bunch of 8-inch floppy disks, but don't have the equipment for that (yet).

Good day!

Hello and welcome! On our side, we stopped archiving floppy images years ago, as nobody wanted to continue that work. The only thing I do these days with occasional uploads is move them here: https://archive.org/details/TGODFloppyCollection-UnprocessedImages. This, of course, doesn't invalidate that it is a good thing to do™ to try and preserve. Best of luck!

Thanks for the info!

I'm gonna use the structure of your submissions on archive.org as a template for my uploads.

Hi guys! Here's a Spanish guy who writes in 2023 but stayed living in the late 90's haha. I just built myself a retro pc (real hardware, not emulation) and I loved the page and this forum to find original software for my windows 98 ;). Glad to be here!

As long as you stay aware of what the current year is, no harm, right? ;)

Hello. Been playing games like these all my life, and have even begun introducing friends to them.

I'd gotten fan-made auto installers for some games in the past, but I'm always more comfortable with the raw disk images so I can install them fully myself. Hence why I wound up here.
