Anyone remember this brief craze from the mid~late 80s? Those permanent markers that had silver metallic ink, and when used on paper or other porous materials would create an outline in various colors? (I used to have one that had a black outline, and one that had a purple outline.)

It was a big craze here in the US in about the mid 80s, I don't know if it ever made it overseas.

Back in the kindergarten I used to work, those were still pretty popular

I still see them whe I go to sci-fi conventions. The celebrities use them to sign their pictures.

Man, someone's still selling those pacifiers?! That was absolutely the stupidest fucking fad I have ever seen.

Oh come on... They are harmless, compared to pet rocks and sea monkeys

I still have a bunch of tubes of sea monkeys in stasis that came with my microscope that I got early-on in school.

One fad that was almost as stupid as the pacifiers was when everyone was wearing big clocks around their necks. Fortunately, that one only lasted a week or two.

I never did know how that fad started (I never liked rap, and so never paid attention to the rap scene), I just knew that half the school started wearing clocks around their neck, and that it was somehow related to rap.
